BYDFi Copy Trading — What Should You Look at Before Following a Trader?
September 15, 2026
Copy trading looks simple: choose a trader and let the system replicate their trades.
The difficult part is choosing who to follow.
BYDFi includes copy trading as part of its trading tools, but follower decisions still matter.
Instead of focusing only on the highest return, it can be more useful to look at a few broader signals.
Consistency
A strong short-term result does not always tell you much.
A trader who shows more stable performance over a longer period may be easier to evaluate than someone with one unusually profitable period.
Risk
Returns make more sense when viewed together with risk.
Two traders may produce similar results while using very different levels of exposure.
Trading Style
Some traders take frequent short-term positions.
Others trade less often and hold positions longer.
The better choice may depend on whether that style matches your own expectations.
Drawdowns Matter
A strategy can be profitable overall while still going through large losing periods.
Understanding how much fluctuation you are comfortable with is just as important as looking at potential returns.
A Better Question
Instead of asking:
Which trader made the most money?
It may be more useful to ask:
Which trader has a strategy and risk profile that I actually understand?
Copy trading can automate execution, but it does not remove the need to evaluate the person or strategy being copied.
