    1) Who we are

    This Privacy Policy explains how Risorgi collects, uses, stores, and shares personal data when you use our website, apps, and related services (the "Service"). "Risorgi," "we," "us," and "our" mean the Service operated under the Risorgi name.

    2) Age requirement

    Risorgi is for users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly offer the Service to children under 18.

    3) Data we collect

    We collect the following categories of data:

    • Account and identity data: email, encrypted password (managed by our auth provider), account IDs, sign-in/session metadata, and confirmation/reset events.
    • Profile data: username, display name, bio/about, location, link, social links, avatar URL, verification status, onboarding status, and update timestamps.
    • Content you provide: posts, titles, body content, embedded links, uploaded images, slugs, and related metadata.
    • Usage and activity data: votes, saves/bookmarks, post links you create, subscriptions/follows, post views, reading engagement metrics (such as reading time and scroll depth), and post download events.
    • Taste and recommendation data: selected taste tags, taste description, inferred taste summary, and vector/embedding data used to personalize recommendations.
    • Security and audit data: logs related to account and content changes, anti-abuse/rate-limit data, and technical event metadata.
    • Device/technical data: browser/user-agent, basic request metadata, and similar technical information needed to run and secure the Service.
    • Cookies and local storage data: required auth/session cookies, essential security cookies, a sidebar preference cookie, temporary security/notice cookies, local draft/editor data, and small local/session storage keys used for UX and session continuity.
    • Analytics and performance data: service performance and usage data from Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights.

    4) How we use data

    • Provide, operate, maintain, and improve Risorgi.
    • Create and manage accounts, authentication, and security checks.
    • Show your content and profile to other users according to product features.
    • Power personalization, ranking, and recommendation features.
    • Provide AI-assisted features, including connection writing and taste summaries.
    • Prevent abuse, fraud, spam, and misuse; enforce our Terms and policies.
    • Generate internal logs and audit trails for security, integrity, and compliance.
    • Send transactional messages (verification, password reset, account notices).
    • Support creator tools, including subscriber list export features.

    5) AI processing

    Some features send relevant data (for example, post text and preference inputs) to AI providers to generate outputs or embeddings. We may use providers such as xAI (via AI Gateway tooling) and OpenAI, and we may change providers and models at any time in our discretion.

    6) Sharing and third parties

    We do not sell your personal data. We share data with service providers that help us operate Risorgi, such as infrastructure, authentication/database, storage, analytics, security/CAPTCHA, email delivery, and AI processing providers.

    We require providers to process data for service-related purposes. Some providers may also process limited technical data under their own terms and policies; we do not control their independent practices.

    We may also disclose data when required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, security, and service integrity.

    7) International transfers

    Your data may be processed in countries other than your own (including outside the EU), depending on where our providers operate. Where required, we rely on provider safeguards for cross-border transfers.

    8) Retention

    We keep personal data as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes in this policy, including operating the Service, security, legal compliance, and dispute handling. Data may remain in backups and logs for a period after deletion requests.

    9) Security

    We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

    10) Your rights and requests

    You can request access, correction, deletion, or export of your personal data.

    To protect users and the Service, we may ask for identity verification before acting on requests, and we may limit, deny, or charge for requests that are repetitive, technically excessive, abusive, conflict with law, infringe others' rights, or risk security/integrity.

    We may retain data where required or permitted by law, for legitimate business purposes, or for legal claims and safety/security reasons.

    11) Ads and sale of data

    We do not sell personal data. We currently do not run targeted advertising on Risorgi.

    12) Changes to this policy

    We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. When we do, we will post the updated version and update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of Risorgi after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
