This Privacy Policy describes how Risorgi ("Risorgi," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and otherwise processes information when you access or use the Risorgi website and related services (collectively, the "Service").

This Privacy Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

The operator of Risorgi is responsible for the processing of personal information described in this Privacy Policy. If Risorgi is operated through a formal legal entity, that entity will be identified in this Privacy Policy or in the Service from time to time.

We collect information in three broad ways: information you provide, information collected automatically, and information that becomes available through your use of the Service.

Information you provide. When you create an Account, we collect information such as your name, username, email address, and password. We also collect information you submit through the Service, including posts, titles, links, images, profile information, avatar images, upvotes, bookmarks, graph connections, and other Content or interactions you choose to create.

When you sign up, we may also record that you accepted our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, along with the date and version of those terms.

If you contact us by email or otherwise communicate with us, we collect the information you choose to provide, such as your message content and contact details.

Information collected automatically. When you access or use the Service, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, dates and times of access, and similar usage or diagnostic data.

We use cookies and similar technologies as described below. Some features may also store limited information locally in your browser, such as session or interface preferences.

Information from your use of the Service. We process information about how you use the Service, including posts you read, links you create, bookmarks you save, upvotes you give, graph interactions, and other activity necessary to operate and secure the Service.

We use the information we collect to:

• provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Service;
• create and manage Accounts and authenticate users;
• publish, display, connect, search, and organize Content as part of the Service;
• enable upvotes, bookmarks, graphs, archives, and other interactive features;

• monitor, analyze, and understand usage of the Service, including troubleshooting, analytics, and product development;

• Contract. Processing necessary to provide the Service you request, including creating and managing your Account and delivering core features.

• Consent. Where required, processing based on your consent, such as for certain marketing communications. You may withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
• Legal obligation. Processing necessary to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances:

• Publicly through the Service. Certain information is made public by design, as described in the next section.

• With your direction. We may share information when you ask us to do so or otherwise direct us through the Service.

Risorgi is designed so that much of what authors publish is public. If you create an Account and publish posts, your public profile information, public posts, public graph connections, upvote counts, and related public activity may be visible to anyone, including people who do not have an Account.

Public Content may appear on profile pages, in search results, on the map, in graph views, and elsewhere in the Service. Other users may link to or reference your public posts as part of the Service's linking features.

Some parts of the Service are private to you, such as your Archive and certain private connections or saved material, unless you choose to make Content public through the Service.

You should not include sensitive personal information in public posts unless you are comfortable making that information public and potentially indexable or copied by others.

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Service, maintain your session, remember certain preferences, and protect the Service.

Essential cookies. These are necessary for the Service to function, including cookies used to keep you signed in, maintain session state, and support authentication and security features.

Functional cookies. These help us remember information related to your use of the Service, such as temporary state during account registration or email verification.

Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. If you disable or reject certain cookies, some parts of the Service may not function properly.

We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies on the Service. If that changes, we will update this Privacy Policy.

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

If you delete your Account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information and Content as described below, subject to reasonable technical limitations, backup retention periods, and legal retention requirements.

Public Content, cached copies, logs, and copies stored by third parties may persist for a period of time after deletion and may remain accessible outside our control.

Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, such as the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, or to receive a portable copy of your information.

You can update certain Account information, such as your display name, password, and avatar, through your account settings where available.

You may opt out of marketing emails by following the unsubscribe instructions in those emails. Even if you opt out of marketing, we may still send you service-related communications.

To exercise your privacy rights or make a request, contact us at hey@risorgi.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We will respond as required by applicable law.

If you are located in the EEA or UK, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

You may delete your Account through the Service where that feature is available, or by contacting us at hey@risorgi.com.

When you delete your Account, your public posts and associated Content will be deleted, subject to reasonable technical limitations, backup retention, and legal obligations. Deletion may not be immediate.

We may retain certain information as required or permitted by law, to resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, or for legitimate business purposes such as security, fraud prevention, and recordkeeping.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for activity under your Account. Please contact us promptly if you believe your Account has been compromised.

We may process and store information in countries other than the one where you live, including countries that may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.

Where required by applicable law, we take steps designed to ensure that international transfers of personal information are subject to appropriate safeguards.

The Service is not directed to individuals under eighteen (18) years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hey@risorgi.com, and we will take appropriate steps to delete that information.

If you create an Account or otherwise use the Service, we may send you marketing or promotional emails about Risorgi, new features, or related offerings. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in those emails.

Opting out of marketing emails will not affect service-related communications that are necessary to provide or secure the Service.

The Service relies on third-party providers for functions such as authentication, database hosting, file storage, and infrastructure. Your use of those providers may be subject to their own privacy policies and terms.

Posts and other Content on the Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing them with information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes may also be communicated through the Service or by email.

Your continued access to or use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to the updated Privacy Policy, you must stop using the Service and may delete your Account.
